The difference between GaN charger and ordinary Charger

The disadvantages of traditional chargers are large in number, large in size and inconvenient to carry.  Especially now, as mobile phones are getting bigger and bigger, the power requirements of mobile phone chargers are also increasing.  Ordinary chargers can no longer meet people’s needs, and the appearance of GaN charger solves this problem.

GaN chargers typically have three charging ports that can charge two phones and a laptop at the same time, which makes it possible to use one GaN charger to replace three normal chargers. GaN charger components are small in size, light in weight, fast in charging and well controlled in heating during charging, which can reduce the risk of overheating.  In addition, with the Gan technology support, the mobile phone fast charging power is expected to reach a new record.

GaN is a new type of semiconductor material that can replace silicon and germanium.The switch tube switching frequency of GaN charger is greatly increased, but the loss is smaller. In this way, the charger can use smaller transformers and inductive elements to reduce volume and heat effectively, and also improve efficiency. Simply put, GaN charger compared with traditional charger with smaller size, faster charging speed, larger power.

In the future, we hope that the mobile phone battery power is more and more larger, and the mobile phone charge faster and faster.   There are still some challenges with the current technology, but it is possible to reach by using GaN charger. The disadvantage of GaN chargers at the moment is that they are a little more expensive than ordinary chargers, but as technology advances and GaN chargers are accepted by more and more people, the cost will soon come down.
